We get to know your family and design a session that actually suits you with a quote customised to the products that you are most intersted in.
Step 2: Planning Appointment
Styling, wardrobe, ideas, location—we guide you through everything. You’ll see and touch our products in-studio.
👉 $100 holding deposit required at this step secures your photography date in our diary.
Step 3: The Photoshoot
Relaxed, fun, and beautifully guided – no awkward posing.
Step 4: Cinematic Design & Purchasing Appointment
This is where the magic happens.
You’ll see your images on the big screen and design your artwork.
Step 5: Artwork Delivery
Pick up your pieces or have them delivered straight to your door.

Session Fees & Booking Deposits
Weekend bookings are limited; session fees are $300 for weekends and $250 for weekdays.
A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your photography session. This deposit is credited towards your image purchase.
Deposits are non-transferable.
Postponements & Cancellations
Sessions may be postponed due to weather or illness, with rescheduling allowed up to 3 months
Health & Safety
Photography sessions can involve physical activity. Please inform us of injuries, food allergies, or special circumstances that may affect your session.
You participate in photography sessions at your own risk. Please treat our staff with respect.
We have a zero tolerance policy for disrespectful behaviour and therefore management reserves the right to refuse service at any time.
Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers cannot be used with other offers. Voucher credit cannot be used for images from a previous portrait session.
We offer 2 types of gift vouchers that have 2 expiry terms: Purchased vs Promotional
PURCHASED gift vouchers directly from Total Capture have a legal expiry of 3 years.
PROMOTIONAL gift vouchers that we have donated to charities, fundraisers or schools are exempt
from the legal minimum expiry and have shorter expiries set by management:
Sessions must be booked prior to the expiry date and can be scheduled up to 3 months after the vouchers expiry.
Planning & Appointments
All family photography sessions require an in-person or virtual planning appointment with a consultant.
Your cinematic design & purchasing appointment must take place within one month of your photography session to redeem gift voucher benefits.
We encourage all decision-makers to attend both the photography session and the purchasing appointment.
Image Use & Purchases
Family session images are not to be used for commercial purposes.
High-resolution digital images with full copyright released to you and therefore no refund is given after the images
are released to the client or after the 3 day cooling off period (whichever occurs first).
Privacy
We respect your privacy; personal information is not shared with third parties or other organisations.
You are entitled to OPT IN or OPT OUT of a model release for the use of your images online, we respect your wishes for your families online privacy (please let us. know!)
From start to finish, our experience with Total Capture Photography was amazing. It began with an introductory appointment with Samantha, who clearly explained the process involved in a family photoshoot, took the time to get to know each of us and to brainstorm ideas of what would work well for our family to capture who we are, with ideas for the ideal setting, good complementary colours for clothing, what colours to avoid, etc. This was followed up by good communication closer to the photoshoot with weather looking potentially sketchy.
For the photoshoot itself, Rhys took us to a beautiful clearing in Mt Crawford forest, and apart from being an awesome photographer (the photos we got showed this), we were particularly impressed with how well he worked with young kids, making them feel at ease, and getting photos of them being “natural” as well as posing, and getting our shy youngest to come out of himself and pose. His easygoing manner helped the kids to really enjoy the shoot (our daughter asked afterwards when can we do it again!).
The showcase appointment with Stephanie was also very enjoyable and well-run, in the peaceful setting of their studio. With so many amazing photographs to choose our primary print collection from, she helped guide us to narrow down the selection and settle on a collection which now looks incredible on our dining room wall with the wood finish.
The entire Total Capture Photography team were really professional and at the same time very personal and made the photoshoot a thoroughly enjoyable process from start to finish, and we are very happy with the results (both our main printed collection and all the digital photos). We totally recommend them if you’re considering updating your family photographs!
